Job Title: Hazard Control Specialist

About the Role
This critical role requires a seasoned safety professional to lead hazard control efforts across our organization. You will develop and implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and provide expertise on fire protection systems, hazardous area classification, and safeguarding. Your extensive experience in oil and gas facilities will ensure the success of our safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety protocols to prevent or mitigate hazards.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide expertise on fire protection systems, hazardous area classification, and safeguarding.
- Develop and implement applicable design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation & maintenance requirements for active and passive fire protection systems, firewater ring main and distribution systems, firewater pumps/storage tanks/deluge systems, fire & gas detection systems, and gaseous fire protection systems.

Requirements
- Minimum 12 years total experience in production or engineering of oil and gas facilities, including a minimum of 10 years' experience in Technical Safety Engineering in Oil and Gas.
- Experience in Physical Effects Modelling and Quantitative Risk Assessment.
- Previous experience/conducted studies using Shell FRED, SHEPHERD software and/or other PEM/Risk integration software.
- Formal certification in Technical Safety will be preferred.
- Competent to interpret and apply Technical Safety engineering related industry standards into projects.
