Software Security Leadership Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Security Leader to join our team. As the most widely used Linux distribution, Ubuntu plays a critical role in ensuring the security of the internet.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing and implementing robust security measures to protect against emerging threats. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference and leave a lasting legacy on the digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the development and implementation of security measures.
  • Provide technical guidance on vulnerability remediation and lifecycle handling.
  • Drive the development of new security engineering projects.
  • Work with upstream open source projects to ensure the integrity of Ubuntu.
  • Cultivate and mentor engineering talent, ensuring the continued growth and success of the team.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive collaboration across multiple teams.
  • A proven track record of driving innovation and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Mastery of programming languages, including Go, Java, C, Python, and knowledge of software and application security.
