Cloud Field Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Field Engineering Manager to lead our team of field engineers and drive the success of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing concepts and technologies, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

The Cloud Field Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and developing a team of field engineers, solving customer problems, and working remotely in a single major time zone. Key responsibilities include coaching, mentoring, and offering career development feedback, identifying and measuring team health indicators, implementing disciplined engineering processes, representing the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers, developing and evangelizing great engineering and organizational practices, and planning and managing progress on agreed goals and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of field engineers
  • Solve customer problems by promoting our technologies and being a trusted advisor
  • Work remotely in a single major time zone
  • Coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback
  • Identify and measure team health indicators
  • Implement disciplined engineering processes
  • Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies
  • Practical knowledge of Linux and networking
  • Experience in technical presales
  • Dynamic and interactive individual who loves to jump in new projects and interact with people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Passion and track record of developing and growing people
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring engineers
  • Organised and able to ensure the team delivers timely, high-quality results
