Hardware Certification Product Manager

This role entails leading the product development lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and conducting market research.

Our goal is to make open source easier, more reliable, and more secure for deployment and development.

We strive to be the provider of 'most software to most companies', starting with Ubuntu but expanding to cover every class of application on every class of compute.

To deliver on that ambition, we select product managers for their intellect and strong drive to advance the open source community.

They push the boundaries of the technology landscape to identify and deliver products into new and existing market opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the roadmap of our Hardware Certification effort and drive our partnership with OEMs.
  2. Work with our engineering team to shape the development roadmap for our Hardware Certification scheme.
  3. Define future business models taking into account the competitive landscape.
  4. Engage with the Ubuntu user community, key partners, OEMs, and leading customers, enabling commercial success and driving go-to-market.
Requirements:
  1. Exceptional academic results at high school and university.
  2. Understanding of Linux and the wider open source software community.
  3. Understanding of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud, or devices.
  4. Passion to write about technologies and the tech landscape.
  5. A strong work ethic, and personal interests aligned with the open source movement.
  6. Curiosity, and the habit of continuous learning.
  7. A strong sense of ownership.
  8. Problem solving and the ability to innovate.
  9. Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
