Human Resources Officer

About the Role

This is a key position within our organization, responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations and providing professional advice to line management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an effective and professional HR service capability, as well as facilitating the attainment of business goals and departmental objectives.

  • Partner with employees and management to communicate and implement functional HR policies and procedures.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all HR functions' internal and external enquiries.
  • Assume full responsibility for the execution of all Oman Re HR functions, ensuring activities are professionally accomplished.
  • Develop and revise HR functions' policies and procedures, educating staff on policy content.
  • Liaise with Ministry of Manpower in all requirements, specifically Omanisation.
  • Assist Coordinators in specific HR functions on a needs basis, identifying external cooperative training programs.
  • Compile relative HR metrics, analyzing, reporting and identifying trends with recommendations.
  • Implement performance management systems, including individual employee training and development plans.
  • Participate in and facilitate timely resolution of employee relations issues, recommending practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship.
  • Investigate formal employee complaints, recommending company response and advising line management.
  • Identify, develop and administer HR programmes, procedures, operating guidelines, and initiate process or procedural improvements.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts, participate in interviewing and selection process.
  • Design and conduct new-employee orientations and inductions, exit interviews.
  • Develop department goals and team member's individual goals, assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Communicate Human Resources policies and procedures, activities and programmes with HR management.
  • Develop HR company-wide processes and systems.
  • Conduct HR lead team meetings and participate in management meetings when necessary.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management plus Associate level Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD).
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience gained in a professional Human Resources Department, preferably in insurance/reinsurance or other financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of current HR practices within Oman and GCC International Standards.
  • Good reasoning and mathematical skills as applied to HR Metrics.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic skills.
