In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for leading the full finance and accounting function for our Oman entity. This includes all financial operations, such as accounting, reporting, regulatory compliance, insurance broking finance (IBA & Non-IBA), tax filings, audit coordination, and cash flow management.

You will work independently while also serving as a key financial advisor to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities include:

  • FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING MANAGEMENT
  • Oversee the entire finance and accounting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
  • Coordinate with auditors to prepare for audits and ensure compliance with all audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective internal controls to ensure data integrity and segregation of duties.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide financial guidance and advice to senior leadership on strategic decisions.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of regulatory reports and XBRL submissions.
  • Collaborate with external tax consultants to calculate and provide Omani corporate tax provisions.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and reconcile bank statements.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local banking partners.

BUDGETING AND FORECASTING

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for our Oman operation.
  • Provide financial planning insights to support local strategic initiatives.
  • Track performance against budget and report deviations with explanations.

TAX AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

  • Assist regional tax manager with VAT/WHT return preparation and filing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Oman Tax Authority.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to calculate, provide, and file corporate tax provisions.
  • Maintain full compliance with all statutory and regulatory filings, including audit reports and XBRL submissions.

TREASURY AND BANKING

  • Manage day-to-day banking operations, including collections, supplier payments, and payroll payments.
  • Maintain relationships with local banking partners.
  • Monitor bank balances and optimize working capital across operational accounts.

INTERNAL CONTROLS AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

  • Design and implement robust internal control processes to ensure data integrity and segregation of duties.
  • Ensure audit readiness and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance accuracy, compliance, and reporting efficiency.
