Life Insurance Underwriter Position Overview

In this critical role, you will play a key part in assessing and underwriting group life insurance proposals to ensure sound risk evaluation and competitive pricing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with corporate clients and partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Group Life and/or Credit Life Underwriting is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits schemes, group mortality trends, and credit life products is essential.
  • Familiarity with underwriting software and digital tools is a plus.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite group life and credit life insurance proposals in line with company guidelines.
  • Analyze group demographics, risk factors, and financials to determine appropriate terms and pricing.
  • Collaborate with sales, actuarial, and operations teams to support client acquisition and retention.
  • Review existing group portfolios and recommend renewal terms and risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
