About the Opportunity

We are excited to offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced academic staff member to join our team as a lecturer in civil engineering at Hawthorn Muscat ELC. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of our civil engineering program, engage with students, and participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. To teach and assess civil engineering and related subjects at the undergraduate level.
2. To develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, and assessment tasks.
3. To contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
4. To engage with students, provide feedback, and support their learning and pastoral needs.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in civil engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience or 9 years of experience in relevant fields (Building Information Modeling, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying).
• HEA fellowship or equivalent internationally accredited fellowship is desirable.
• Registered Chartered Engineer and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CENG/IENG) or similar institution internationally accredited will be an advantage.
