About the Opportunity
We are excited to offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced academic staff member to join our team as a lecturer in civil engineering at Hawthorn Muscat ELC. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of our civil engineering program, engage with students, and participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- To teach and assess civil engineering and related subjects at the undergraduate level.
- To develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, and assessment tasks.
- To contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- To engage with students, provide feedback, and support their learning and pastoral needs.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in civil engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience or 9 years of experience in relevant fields (Building Information Modeling, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying).
- HEA fellowship or equivalent internationally accredited fellowship is desirable.
- Registered Chartered Engineer and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CENG/IENG) or similar institution internationally accredited will be an advantage.
