At Canonical, we are seeking a seasoned Billing System Manager to spearhead our Commercial Systems unit.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a unique solution and build expertise in billing and finance. You will lead, mentor, and hire a team of software engineers, drive continuous improvement in processes, designs, and engineering solutions, partner with business customers to understand their needs, collaborate on business analysis and technical designs, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software engineers and provide guidance and mentorship.
  • Seek continuous improvement in processes, designs, and engineering solutions.
  • Partner with business customers to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Collaborate on business analysis and technical designs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet customer expectations.
Requirements
  • Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go or Python.
  • Experience as a hands-on engineering manager or team lead.
  • Experience designing or implementing billing systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders.
Additional Skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or NetSuite.
  • Experience in a business role such as sales, finance, or operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
