Job Description

As an English Language Lecturer, you will play a key role in ensuring students have the necessary English language proficiency to achieve success in their chosen disciplines.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering interesting, useful, and engaging English language lessons to students on Muscat University's General Foundation Programme and in-sessional support.

The position requires close collaboration with the General Foundation Programme Director and other language lecturers to teach up to 20 hours of General English and EAP classes per week.

You will also be expected to create assessments and mark them to given deadlines.

A strong belief in and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the university is essential.

  • Plan and deliver up to 20 hours per week to students on either the Undergraduate Foundation Programme or academic support to UG or PG students.
  • Create and mark assessments for students on the General Foundation Programmes.
  • Provide pastoral care to students on the General Foundation Programmes via personal tutoring.
  • Administrative duties relating to teaching (assessment, standardisation, moderation, lesson preparation, report writing, attendance of regular course and general meetings).
  • Be an effective ambassador for the university among academics, parents, students, and other ELT professionals in the region.
