Assistant Professor Job Opportunity

Oman Dental College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Full-Time Assistant Professor in Endodontology. This role combines didactic, clinical and research supervision responsibilities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development of excellence in dental education, clinical training and research output.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver lectures, seminars and case-based learning sessions in Endodontology to BDS and postgraduate students.
  • Supervise and mentor students during clinical training in Endodontology, ensuring safe, evidence-based practice.
  • Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in the development and execution of scientific research projects.
  • Participate in the continuous review and enhancement of the Endodontology curriculum in alignment with international standards.
  • Serve as an examiner and contribute to the assessment and evaluation of students.
  • Engage in ongoing research activity and contribute to academic output through publications and conference presentations.
  • Support the College's commitment to community oral health initiatives and outreach programmes.
  • Fulfil administrative responsibilities associated with teaching, research, and committee membership.

Educational Qualifications:

  • BDS (or equivalent)
  • MClinDent (Endodontics) and Membership in Endodontology (e.g., MEndo)
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with US/Canadian Board Certification in Endodontology

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in clinical practice
  • At least 3 years of academic teaching in a higher education institution
  • Proven experience in supervising postgraduate students and conducting academic assessments
  • Demonstrated scholarly activity including peer-reviewed research publications

Desirable Attributes:

  • PhD in Endodontology or a related dental discipline
  • Fellowship or equivalent recognition from an international professional body
  • Familiarity with curriculum development aligned to international accreditation standards

  • Excellent clinical, teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to advancing dental education and clinical training standards
  • Organised, proactive and adaptable in a diverse academic environment
  • High proficiency in English (spoken and written).
