Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing on-site construction activities for a major infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience in site supervision, preferably on port, marine, or infrastructure projects.

  • Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing the daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and project standards.

  • Monitor contractor performance, coordinate with site inspectors, and review contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals.

  • Support progress monitoring, schedule adherence, and quality assurance measures, attending site coordination meetings and preparing minutes of meetings and site reports as required.

  • Ensure that works are executed in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, maintaining project documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and correspondence logs.

  • Liaise with the contractor, client representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth progress of the project.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in site supervision, preferably on port, marine, or infrastructure projects.

  • Skill Set

  • Good technical and analytical skills with a focus on quality and safety, proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software, and strong communication and coordination skills.

  • Languages

  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
