We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee a marine infrastructure project in Oman.

Job Overview:

The Assistant Resident Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of this complex project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine construction, excellent technical skills, and exceptional leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing all marine construction activities, including quay walls, breakwaters, dredging, reclamation, and piling.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to design specifications, project timelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular inspections, site audits, and review method statements to maintain high-quality construction.
  • Work closely with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, technical reports, and site observations to the Resident Engineer and project management team.
  • Attend progress meetings, presenting key site updates and addressing concerns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in marine construction (ports, harbors, coastal structures).
  • Strong knowledge of dredging, quay wall construction, revetments, piling, and reclamation works.
  • Experience working in the Middle East, preferably in Oman, is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage contractors and project teams.
