Operational and Fraud Risk Management Leader

The Head of Operational and Fraud Risk Management is responsible for leading the operational and fraud risk management unit. This role involves developing strategies to prevent, detect, and investigate fraudulent activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Conducting complex investigations

Operational Risk Management Objectives:

  • Implement and monitor the ORM framework and KRIs across the bank
  • Drive reduction in recurring operational risk events
  • Ensure critical functions maintain updated BCPs
  • Conduct regular risk awareness sessions

Fraud Detection and Prevention Objectives:

  • Detect and prevent fraud through proactive measures
  • Measure and report fraud cases detected and monetary value prevented
  • Achieve sustained reduction in fraud incidents

Investigation Efficiency Objectives:

  • Average Investigation Time: Measure time taken to complete investigations
  • Investigation Closure Rate: Track percentage of investigations closed within defined time frame
  • Accuracy of Investigations: Measure percentage of investigations resulting in confirmed fraud cases

Risk Management Objectives:

  • Conduct regular operational and fraud risk assessments
  • Oversee implementation of recommended risk mitigation measures
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

Team Performance and Development Objectives:

  • Develop the operational and fraud risk team through training and professional development opportunities
  • Monitor team satisfaction and engagement through feedback
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations

Reporting and Documentation Objectives:

  • Ensure timely submission of accurate investigation and risk reports
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Monitor quality of reports for clarity, consistency, and stakeholder alignment

Stakeholder Engagement Objectives:

  • Internal Stakeholder Satisfaction: Measure satisfaction levels of internal stakeholders
  • Foster successful partnerships with external stakeholders

Continuous Improvement Objectives:

  • Lead adoption of industry best practices in operational and fraud risk management
  • Introduce innovative tools and methodologies to enhance fraud detection capabilities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational and fraud risk management processes

Financial Impact Objectives:

  • Quantify and report cost savings achieved through effective fraud prevention measures
  • Monitor and enhance ROI for all operational and fraud risk management initiatives
