Job Description

The Application and System Security Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding an organization's software and systems from cyber threats, data breaches, and potential risks. This position involves proactively implementing security measures, identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering a culture of security awareness, and continuously monitoring for threats.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement IT Security Policies: Develop and enforce policies to achieve the department's objectives.
  2. Conduct Security Assessments: Perform code reviews, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
  3. Collaborate with Development Teams: Ensure secure software development practices are followed throughout the SDLC.
  4. Configure Web Application Firewalls: Protect web applications from common attacks such as SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS).
  5. Promote Secure Coding Practices: Implement industry-standard application security frameworks like OWASP to guide secure development practices.
