Cybersecurity Academic Lead

The Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Cybersecurity position requires a strong academic background and research experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching experiences, ensuring necessary content and material are in place for degree programmes, and liaising with the Faculty Director on student matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, supervising postgraduate theses.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations, guiding students on their research methodologies and outcomes.
• Participate in scholarly research activities leading to publications in refereed international journals within the field of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.
• Initiate and develop research collaborations resulting in successful grant applications, enhancing the department's funding and research capabilities.
• Play a significant role in curriculum development and graduate supervision while attracting research funding to support programme initiatives.
• Produce high-quality scholarly work contributing to the department's research output and academic reputation.
• Engage in community outreach and participation in service activities promoting the importance of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.

Requirements:

• A PhD in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area from an internationally recognized university.
• Expertise in one or more areas: Cybersecurity principles, Digital Forensics techniques, Incident Response, Malware Analysis, Network Security, Ethical Hacking, or Cyber Risk Management.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Cybersecurity courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising research projects.
• Active involvement in research within their areas of specialization, showing engagement with current trends and challenges in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.
• Possession of necessary computing skills relevant to their areas of expertise.
• Professional certifications such as SANS, CISSP, CEH, CISM, etc., demonstrating ongoing professional development.
• Evidence of active participation in university, professional, and local community initiatives related to Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics.

Main Duties:

• Develop and deliver learning materials, including module plans and assessments.
• Liaise with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of programmes.
• Manage and oversee student projects and dissertations, providing guidance and support.
• Participate in research activities and collaborate with other researchers to produce high-quality scholarly work.
• Contribute to the development of the department's research strategy and funding initiatives.
• Foster collaboration with industry partners and engage in knowledge transfer activities.
• Actively participate in university and faculty committees, representing the department's interests.
