Job Title: Power Transmission Site Health and Safety Expert

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant local regulations, minimizing risks, and promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.

About the Role:
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and implement risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safe work procedures for power transmission projects.
  • Deliver training on electrical safety, fall protection, and emergency response to promote a culture of safety.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage and control work permits, including hot work permits, confined space entry permits, and excavation permits.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and other relevant documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Safety: Focus on the unique safety requirements of high voltage electrical transmission work.
  • Submit monthly reports on contractor QHSE performance and quarterly reports on contractor performance.
  • Carry out pre-commission audits before energizing grid stations or overhead lines.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of six years of experience in HSE functions.
  • A Diploma or Degree in a technical subject.
  • Certifications in NEBOSH IGC, IOSH MS, and IRCA Approved Lead Auditor ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Knowledge of specific relevant safety techniques and legal and contractual HSE requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
