Regulatory Affairs Specialist Job Summary:

This position requires a seasoned Regulatory Affairs Specialist to oversee the development and implementation of regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the telecom industry and strong stakeholder management skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with TRA regulations and laws.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including operators, wholesale suppliers, and the TRA.
  3. Documentation and Submission: Ensure timely completion and submission of necessary documentation to the TRA.
  4. CORPORATE STRATEGY: Contribute to the development of corporate strategy, ensuring regulatory affairs-related matters are considered and reflected.
  5. Responding to Consultation Papers: Provide input into the preparation of responses to TRA consultation papers.
  6. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure full compliance with TRA regulations and laws and provide regular updates to management.
  7. Anti-Competitive Strategy: Develop and implement anti-competitive strategies to protect the company's interests.
  8. Raising Awareness: Promote awareness among internal stakeholders on TRA regulations and laws.
  9. Financial Planning: Develop plans to reduce financial burdens resulting from TRA fees.
  10. SPOC: Serve as the SPOC with the TRA on all core matters related to competition, economics, and non-technical matters.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in the telecom industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in regulation and dealing with regulatory authorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable: start-up experience in setting up a new company/operator and advanced knowledge of national and international telecom industry.
