As a Software Engineer on our Core Desktop team, you will play a key role in designing and developing elements of the next generation of immutable Ubuntu desktop. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage the latest Linux container technologies and work with experienced team members to understand the intricacies of immutable desktops.

You will engage with the Ubuntu community to gather user feedback and insights, and contribute to the development of innovative technology solutions. Your contributions will be essential in shaping the future of Ubuntu's Core Desktop.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic results, an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or alternative path, and an understanding of software development methodologies and life cycles. A passion for technology and a drive to work with intelligent, motivated colleagues is also essential.

You should be willing to learn and adapt, with a keen interest in the challenges of immutable desktop environments. Skills in Linux containerisation technologies, Linux desktop environments, C/C++, Go, Python, and Shell scripting are required.
