Job Title: Accountant – Tour DMC

Location: Muscat, Oman

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our tour DMC team in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will manage financial records, ensure accurate reporting, and support the financial operations of our tours, travel services, and client projects. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in the Sejour System, and a passion for the travel and tourism industry.

Key Responsibilities:


• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.


• Prepare and process invoices for clients, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.


• Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts monthly.


• Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting and forecasting.


• Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.


• Ensure compliance with Omani taxation, laws, and financial regulations.


• Coordinate with tour operations team to track tour costs, payments, and commissions.


• Ensure all tour packages and invoices are accurately entered into the Sejour System.


• Support audit processes and maintain proper documentation of financial transactions.


• Assist in payroll processing and employee expense management.


• Identify areas for process improvement within accounting and financial operations.

Requirements & Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


• Proven experience (2+ years) as an accountant, preferably in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector.


• At least 2 years of experience using the Sejour System.


• Strong understanding of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel.


• Knowledge of Omani financial regulations and tax compliance.


• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Good communication skills in English (additional languages a plus).

Preferred Skills:


• Experience working with tour operators, travel agencies, or DMCs.


• Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and international payments.


• Knowledge of financial reporting for tourism projects and tours.
