Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Store Keeper to manage the complete operations of our store in a marble manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficient inventory control, planning for future material requirements, and coordinating with factory departments to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production. The candidate should have excellent knowledge of MS Excel and be capable of managing data, imports, and stock reports effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and recording of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Plan inventory requirements in advance based on production schedules and upcoming import orders.
- Liaise with factory, purchase, and import department to forecast raw material and finished goods requirements.
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure proper documentation for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Monitor stock levels regularly and generate reorder alerts to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure all materials are properly tagged, stacked, and stored following safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports using MS Excel.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and ensure quality and quantity checks before acceptance.
- Supervise loading and unloading activities and ensure proper handling of marble slabs, blocks, and finished products.
- Coordinate with the import and logistics teams for upcoming shipments and plan warehouse space accordingly.
- Implement and monitor FIFO/LIFO inventory management systems for material issuance.
- Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and housekeeping standards within the store area.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate degree (preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in store or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or construction material industry.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, reporting).
- Knowledge of inventory management systems or ERP software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to plan ahead, multitask, and coordinate with multiple departments effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and timelines.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience handling heavy machinery spare parts, materials like marble, granite, or tiles.
- Understanding of import documentation and logistics coordination.
- Experience in stock planning and warehouse optimization.
- Strong analytical skills to assess stock levels and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Excellent organizational abilities to maintain order in a fast-paced storage environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking in the warehouse.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage in diverse operational settings.
