Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in food preparation:This includes measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
  • Baking and cooking:Assisting in baking a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Decorating and plating:Helping with the presentation and plating of desserts, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene:Keeping the pastry kitchen clean, organized, and adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Stock management:Assisting with monitoring inventory, stock rotation, and reporting any shortages.
  • Following recipes and instructions:Adhering to recipes, plating guidelines, and instructions provided by senior chefs.
  • Learning and development:Actively participating in training, seeking opportunities to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Working as part of a team:Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of pastry items.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Culinary knowledge: Basic understanding of baking techniques and pastry production.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in measurements, preparation, and presentation.
  • Hygiene and sanitation: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and following food safety guidelines.
  • Teamwork and communication: Working effectively with others and communicating clearly in a kitchen environment.
  • Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 25 pounds.
  • Eagerness to learn: A willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
