MEP Draftsman

Position: MEP Draftsman Hotel Projects

Experience: 8-10 Years (in MEP drafting for building services)

Location: Oman

Qualification: Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering or equivalent

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced MEP Draftsman to prepare detailed MEP drawings for high-end 4-star and 5-star hotel projects. The candidate must have hands-on expertise in preparing coordinated shop drawings for Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems, with specific knowledge of luxury hospitality project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting & Design Support

• Prepare and develop MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.

• Ensure drawings are in line with consultant/brand standards for luxury hotels.

• Incorporate markups, design changes, and site modifications accurately.

• Coordination

• Work closely with MEP Engineers, architects, and site teams to ensure drawing accuracy.

• Coordinate between electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire-fighting systems to avoid clashes.

• Update drawings based on site progress and consultant/client feedback.

• Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain organized drawing records for submission and approvals.

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and local authority regulations.

• Assist in preparation of material take-offs and BOQs where required.

Requirements

• Diploma / ITI in Electrical / Mechanical / Civil Drafting (or equivalent).

• 8-10 years of experience in MEP drafting, with exposure to luxury hotel or large commercial projects.

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD (mandatory); Revit MEP/BIM knowledge is an added advantage.

• Ability to prepare accurate coordinated drawings across all services.

• Familiarity with international hotel operator standards (Marriott, Hilton, Radisson, etc.) preferred.

• Detail-oriented with strong technical accuracy and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office.

• Good understanding of construction site practices and sequencing.

• Ability to work under pressure and deliver drawings to tight deadlines.

• This role is positioned as support to the MEP Engineer, ensuring precise drafting & coordination essential for 4/ 5-star hospitality projects.
