IT Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering and IT infrastructure, with expertise in various protocols and systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions while ensuring high availability and security of our IT systems. The IT Engineer will work collaboratively within an Agile environment to support our organization's technology needs.

Duties

• Design, implement, and manage WAN and LAN infrastructures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Configure and maintain Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco ISE for identity services, and VPN solutions for secure remote access.
• Oversee data center operations, including SAN management, load balancing, and high availability configurations.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement network security measures using IDS/IPS technologies.
• Manage cloud security protocols within AWS and Azure environments to safeguard data integrity.
• Utilize scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation of system administration tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Maintain documentation of network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures following ITIL best practices.
• Provide technical support for computer networking issues related to routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP), DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Proven experience in network engineering with a strong understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS).
• Familiarity with various operating systems including Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), macOS, Solaris, and BSD.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Citrix is advantageous.
• Knowledge of network management tools (SolarWinds, PRTG) for monitoring performance metrics.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Shell Scripting) for automation tasks is desirable.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and their security implications is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues effectively.
