Role & responsibilities

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Verification of Design and Planning for complete execution of

   • Mechanical Systems: HVAC (Air Conditioning) system design including ductwork, piping, load calculations, and equipment selection.

3. • Electrical Systems: Designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, and other low-voltage systems.

4. 
   • Plumbing Systems: Designing water supply, drainage, sewage, rainwater drainage

5. Project Coordination

6. 
   • Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, and other stakeholders.

7. • Attend coordination meetings (BIM or CAD-based) to resolve design conflicts.

8. 
   • Ensure integration of MEP systems without clashes with architectural and structural elements

9. Site Execution and Supervision

10. 
    • Monitor & independently supervise execution and installation of MEP systems to ensure adherence to design, quality standards, and codes.

11. • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems.

    • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on-site.

13. Documentation and Compliance

    • Prepare technical submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications.

    • Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations.

    • Review and approve contractor documentation (method statements, RFIs, etc.).

17. Testing and Commissioning

    • Supervise functional testing of all systems.

19. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning phase.

    • Hand over operational manuals and maintenance schedules.

21. Maintenance and Facility Management Support

    • Provide support for maintenance strategy, scheduling, and upgrades.

    • Ensure all MEP systems function efficiently post-occupancy.

    • Assist in estimating costs for MEP systems.

26. • Evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals.
27. • Participate in value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality.

Skills Required

• • Strong understanding of MEP codes and standards.
• • Proficiency in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), HAP, Dialux, etc.
• • Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• • Good communication and teamwork skills.
