ROLE PURPOSE
To carry out all maintenance electrical works, overhaul and repair of all electrical equipment in a timely, safe and efficient manner while following all quality and safety standards to ensure trouble free and minimum down time.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Electrical Maintenance
Perform skilled maintenance, overhaul and repair of such equipment as Low Voltage/ Medium Voltage Electric motors, large Turbo-alternators of 20 MW and above, Medium Volage and Low Voltage panels boards, switchgears, sub-stations, High Voltage Overhead power lines and other electrical equipment such as AC UPS and DC UPS systems and their associated battery banks.
The technician shall have in-depth knowledge on the overhauling of the motors at the workshop including the necessary reconditions as required.
The Technician shall be capable of carrying out all the troubleshooting activities on the LV panels, LV motor control systems, MV motor control systems, DOL starter troubleshooting, LV VFD troubleshooting.
The technician who has direct hands-on experience independently will be preferred.
2.Repairing Equipment
Repair and fabricate, either on site or in workshop, any mechanical parts related to electrical equipment, such as pipes, clamps, fittings, etc.
3.Report Submission
Submit reports to the Line Manager on agreed intervals to update him/her on machinery performance, supply levels, etc.
4.Electrical Troubleshooting
Conduct electrical troubleshooting for all the LV and MV switchgear and repairs of machinery. The Technician shall assist the Electrical Engineer and the Team lead in troubleshooting of the control systems related to synchronization, 132 KV GIS controls etc.
5.Required Tools Request
Obtain electrical-related supplies such as spares, materials, special tools, and equipment to ensure the smooth running of operations.
6.Usage of Electrical Equipment
The Technician shall have in-depth hands-on experience on handling of the different types of Digital Multi meters, Insulation Testing equipment for measurement of IR & PI, thermography equipment, Clamp meters etc.
7.Inspections
Conduct regular inspections of machinery to ensure compliance with operating procedures and quality standards. Make programmed checks to ascertain faults in plant and equipment by feel, sight or sound and diagnose faults. Carry-out minor repairs as necessary. Notify Line Manager of more serious malfunctions and take corrective actions after his/her approval as well as collaborate other division.
8.Preventive Maintenance
Implement routine and preventive maintenance plans to keep all electrical machinery operational and in service.
9.Other Related Responsibilities
Keep records and files of repairs and maintenance tasks performed, materials used, and general information about machinery to facilitate the job of the next shift attendants.
Read engineering drawings and manuals, etc.
10.Policies & Procedures
Comply with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
11.Health, Safety & Quality
Comply with all relevant health, safety and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
12.Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'leading best practices', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Stay abreast of current changes and trends and make necessary recommendations to Line Manager when and as required.

Educational & Professional Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Senior Electrical high school, plus 2 years of formal training in electrical trades
- Proficiency in English or Arabic is a must
Minimum Experience:
More than 6 years of experience in carrying out Preventive, Predictive and Corrective Maintenance activities related Electrical Maintenance Department of Power Plant RO Plant, Oil and Gas Installations Refineries or petrochemical industry. Preference will be given to the candidates who have hands on Experience in a Large Gas Turbine based Power plant.
