MQ/Message Broker System Administrator

MQ/Message Broker System Administrator is urgently required for our client based in Oman. The successful candidate will have 5 Years of progressive working knowledge of Enterprise Messaging Technologies.

Key responsibilities:

1. WMQ / WMB System Management and administration, such as performance, logging, backup, recovery and health checking.
2. Work on various MQ infrastructure projects to improve system.
3. Provide up to 3rd Level technical support and after-hours and weekend support.
4. Reliability and performance and deliver new features and services.
5. Work with business, developers and system administrators on planning, setting up new and expanding existing infrastructure.
6. Troubleshoot system performance and connectivity issues within the application and the infrastructure, feeding back any relevant application issues back to our development team.
7. Work with vendors to test and evaluate new hardware and software solutions.
8. Perform day-to-day system administration of the WMQ / Message Broker.
9. Set up new WMQ / Message Broker, Clustering production environment.
10. Provide Support to application teams on WMQ / Message Broker related activities.
11. Provide WMQ / Message Broker performance Support.
12. Provide WMQ / Message Broker problem determination and problem resolution support for application activities.
13. Develop and deploy scripts for WMQ / Message Broker Administration Activities.
14. Provide Break / Fix Support for WMQ / Message Broker Activities.
15. Problem determination and fault finding.

Essential requirements:

1. Bachelor's/Master degree in computer science.
2. Experience in SSL certificate installation / renewal / configuration.
3. UNIX experience is a must.
4. Exposure to Message Broker monitoring and performance tuning on Unix platform.
5. Solid background in MQ and Message Broker Operations, Administration and Support.
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills in resolving complex MQ and Message Broker message flows issues and experience in vendor support escalation and management.
7. Exposure to Message Flows development, deployment and test support using MQ and Message Broker.
8. Hands-on experience in message flows problem diagnosis and investigations.
9. Good exposure in SSL certificates installations in Message Broker environment.
10. Strong understanding of MQ clustering, performance tuning and monitoring of all aspects of the MQ infrastructure including Queue depth.
11. Skills should include installation, configuration of MQ and message broker, creating new queue managers, queues, channels, name lists, SSL repositories, creating broker, configuration manager, backup and restore of integration infrastructure.
12. As an MQ Administrator you will have extensive experience with IBM's MQ suite of products and in particular with MQ versions 6/7 and Message Broker.
13. The installation base systems will be Intel systems hardware running Red Hat/SUSE Linux.
14. You will be working within a small cross-trained team and working primarily around distributed Linux systems.
15. Daily your role will see you working on monitoring and improving the resiliency of our various internal and public facing environments.
16. Key to being successful, will be the ability to administer and provide day-to-day support of the MQ service, including problem resolution in all environments, issue prioritization and in providing various system diagnostics, proposed resolutions and support; 24/7.
17. Candidate should have good oral and written communication skills.
