Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Assistant Finance Manager supports the finance department in managing the hotel's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and assisting in financial reporting. Responsibilities include overseeing daily accounting activities, assisting with budgeting, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical background, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for coordination across departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate weekly and monthly management reports to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process by collaborating with department heads for financial data and assumptions.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and variance analyses to identify trends and recommend actions.
- Support daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, receivable, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify revenue and cost improvement opportunities.
- Provide financial insights and advice to department heads to meet financial goals.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager and team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial operations.
- Train and mentor junior finance staff and cross-functional team members on financial processes and systems.
- Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting within the hospitality industry or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Opera, Sun System) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
