Role Overview

  • Contribute to research and development of new features and improvements for open source community and Canonical customers.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to shape the future of Canonical products.
  • Provide direction to the design team, ensuring alignment with product strategy and best practices.
  • Elevate and evangelize design systems that drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Tackle complex systems-level problems with numerous interconnected constraints.
  • Lead end-to-end design processes for diverse challenges.
  • Drive horizontal growth through a working group focused on advancing Canonical design.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Pursue exceptional academic achievements from high school to university.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in User Experience, Design, or STEM, or demonstrate an alternative path through a compelling narrative.
  • Demonstrate expertise and passion in user experience, technology, and design.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement, embracing curiosity, flexibility, and scientific approaches.
  • Achieve results-oriented work with a focus on completion and celebrating success.
  • Cultivate confidence in user research practices.
  • Stay engaged with the latest design research and innovation.
  • Be prepared for international travel twice a year, participating in company events up to two weeks long.
