As part of the Technical team, responsible for ensuring the most competitive and appropriate cable designs for each situation, considering OCI's needs and capabilities, and the customers' needs.

Key DeliverablesPRE ORDER
  1. Cooperate with the marketing team in responding promptly to customer enquiries for cables.
  2. Understand the technical requirements of the customer and design the cable accordingly.
  3. Analyze customer needs to assess OCI technical feasibility and provide feedback to the marketing team.
  4. Identify clarification points and participate in technical communications and meetings with customers to meet their needs.
  5. Prepare raw material specifications as required.
  6. Provide technical data sheets to customers as needed.
  7. Prepare and upload design sheets / BOMs for raw materials in the ERP for production, financial, and marketing use.
  8. Coordinate with R&D for development and with QC for additional testing.
  9. Distribute daily activities among team members.
  10. Conduct risk assessments and mitigation.
  11. Perform design calculations such as CYMCAP, cable sizing, ampacity, and short circuit rating.
POST ORDER
  1. Review contracts after order confirmation to clarify ambiguities through the marketing department.
  2. Prepare the CA Family, Item codes, and CMS as per the purchase order and transfer to the production team.
  3. Generate information for MES as required.
  4. Review CMSs prepared by Design Engineers before sending to production.
  5. Prepare designs suitable for MES operation.
  6. Collaborate with NPD, Material & Lab, Operations, and Procurement teams.
  7. Lead CSI, DTC, and sustainability activities.
  8. Substitute managers when necessary.
Job Profile

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CYMCAP.
  • Knowledge of Fictitious calculation and Bill of Material calculation for LV, MV, and Instrumentation cables.
  • Understanding of cable manufacturing and design standards for LV, MV, and Instrumentation cables (IEC, BS, HD, AUS/NZ).
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in an international context.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Decision-making skills and team orientation.
Experience
  • Degree: 5+ years as a cable design engineer.
  • Diploma: 7+ years as a cable design engineer.
Business Understanding
  • Knowledge of costing software.
  • Experience with cable design software.
  • Knowledge of cables used in Oil & Gas, Power Grids, and Renewable sectors.
  • Ability to analyze cable market trends.
