As part of the Technical team, responsible for designing the most competitive and appropriate cables for each situation, considering OCI's needs and capabilities, as well as customer requirements.

Key Deliverables
Pre-Order
  1. Collaborate with the marketing team to respond promptly to customer inquiries about cables.
  2. Understand customer technical requirements and design cables accordingly.
  3. Analyze customer needs to assess technical feasibility and provide feedback to marketing.
  4. Identify clarification points and participate in technical communications and meetings with customers.
  5. Prepare raw material specifications as needed.
  6. Provide technical data sheets upon customer request.
  7. Prepare and upload design sheets/BOMs for raw materials in ERP for production, financial, and marketing use.
  8. Coordinate with R&D for development and QC for additional testing.
  9. Distribute daily activities among team members.
  10. Conduct risk assessments and mitigation.
  11. Perform design calculations (CYMCAP, cable sizing, ampacity, short circuit rating, etc.).
Post-Order
  1. Review contracts after order confirmation to clarify and finalize ambiguities with marketing.
  2. Prepare the CA Family, Item codes, and CMS based on purchase orders and transfer information to production.
  3. Generate information for MES as required.
  4. Review CMSs prepared by Design Engineers before sending to production.
  5. Create designs suitable for MES operations.
  6. Collaborate with NPD, Material & Lab, Operations, and Procurement teams.
  7. Lead CSI, DTC, and sustainability activities.
  8. Substitute managers as needed.
Qualifications

Job Profile: Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CYMCAP.
  • Knowledge of Fictitious calculation & Bill of Material calculation for LV, MV & Instrumentation cables.
  • Understanding of cable manufacturing and design standards (IEC, BS, HD, AUS/NZ) for LV, MV, and instrumentation cables.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in an international context.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Decision-making skills and team orientation.
Experience
  • Degree: 5+ years as a cable design engineer.
  • Diploma: 7+ years as a cable design engineer.
Business Understanding
  • Knowledge of costing software.
  • Familiarity with software for cable design.
  • Understanding of cables used in Oil & Gas, Power Grids, and Renewables.
  • Ability to analyze cable market trends.
