We're Hiring: MPLS Engineer – Oman | 12-Month Contract (Extendable)

We are looking for a skilled MPLS Engineer to support a major telecom infrastructure project in Oman. This is a 12-month extendable contract with a chance to work on large-scale MPLS network deployments.

Role Overview:

As an MPLS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of multi-vendor IP/MPLS networks. You'll work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the telecom backbone infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Configure, test, and deploy Nokia MPLS devices including VSR, SAR-Ax, SAR-8, SAS-Sx
  2. Provide basic support and understanding of Nokia Microwave (MW) technologies
  3. Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Switches in Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments
  4. Configure and monitor Fortinet Firewalls to ensure secure connectivity and policy enforcement
  5. Perform network performance tuning and monitor link utilization using standard tools
  6. Diagnose and resolve issues related to BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP, and MPLS-TE protocols
  7. Participate in network expansion, migrations, and upgrades
  8. Create detailed documentation for configuration changes, network diagrams, and standard procedures
  9. Provide L2/L3 operational support and work with NOC and vendor support teams for escalations
  10. Ensure 24x7 network uptime by responding to and resolving high-priority incidents efficiently

Required Skills & Experience:

  1. Hands-on experience with Nokia MPLS platforms (VSR, SAR-Ax, SAR-8, SAS-Sx)
  2. Familiarity with Nokia Microwave (MW) – basic knowledge acceptable
  3. Strong working knowledge of Cisco switching technologies
  4. Practical experience configuring and managing Fortinet Firewalls
  5. Solid understanding of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, etc.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot complex routing and connectivity issues across MPLS backbones
  7. Experience working in telecom environments or large enterprise networks preferred

Location: Oman

Duration: 12 Months (with potential extension)
