Protection system asset management and information database. Maintain and troubleshoot protection systems and applications to ensure all systems are healthy and functioning well. Prepare and perform testing in the testing facility.

- Job Description:

  • Maintain and update Protection SOPs, procedures, and documentation.
  • Perform and supervise maintenance and replacement work related to assets at site.
  • Prepare and execute testing of protection components in the testing facility.
  • Manage testing facility, tools, and components.
  • Follow up on protection-related spare parts availability.
  • Ensure cyber security compliance and implement gap remediations.
  • Coordinate protection communication issues with concerned departments.
  • Provide protection support for timely restoration of outages.
  • Be available 24/7 for emergency support and attend to issues as necessary.
  • Record, analyze, and recommend actions for defects.
  • Follow up on maintenance planning and execution.
  • Review and contribute to protection documentation.
  • Manage incident reports and analyze critical incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure the protection system database is up to date.
  • Record, analyze, and follow up on protection asset defects and network incidents.
  • Supervise and implement preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Analyze protection system data and report on system performance.
  • Assist in preparing protection budgets, price control, tender documents, and project execution.
  • Share knowledge and experience with colleagues; support development through coaching.
  • Contribute to engineering, design, and validation of protection schemes, solutions, and new applications & technologies.
  • Maintain knowledge of Asset Management, HSE Management System, and IT Security Standards per ISO55001, ISO 14001, ISO45001, and ISO 27001 to perform duties effectively.
  • Adhere to company policies on health, safety, environmental, and security standards.

- Competencies:

  • OETC protection authorization.
  • Knowledge of the electricity sector.
  • Ability to perform relay testing.
  • Basic understanding of IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.
  • Ability to produce protection settings and configuration files for different makes (IED).
