Wyndham Garden Muscat is now seeking a Pool Lifeguard to join our team.

Job Summary

As a Pool Lifeguard, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all swimmers in and around the pool area. You will be expected to maintain constant watch over all activities in the pool and respond quickly to any emergency situations that may arise.

In addition to your lifesaving duties, you will also be responsible for ensuring that the pool area is clean and well-maintained at all times. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks such as skimming the pool, checking the chemical levels, and maintaining the pool deck and surrounding areas.

Education & Experience
  • Qualified with lifeguard and first aid certificate.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English with basic computer operation skills.
  • 1 to 2 years of hotel or club experience as a lifeguard.
Physical Requirements

Physically fit and able to work long hours in an outside environment are essentials.

  • Ensure Guests are aware of all services and activities available at the pool.
  • Ensure all Guests are registered before using the pool and are aware of the rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Make sure the swimming pool is clean and constantly monitor swimming pool activity.
  • Have required knowledge of Health club facilities along with their prices and also know about membership procedures.
  • Ensure the sun loungers are clean, umbrellas are in working shape and, in the correct position and proper working condition.
  • Use appropriate rescue techniques if observing swimmers in need of assistance.
  • Observe the swimming area for dangerous conditions, unusual or unsafe activities, and swimmers who are struggling.
  • Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer first aid.
  • Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform the supervisor/manager.
  • Regularly check the temperature of the pool to ensure it is at set standard.
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Provide a high level of Guest satisfaction and safety through effective communication.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager and attend and complete safety training and certifications as required by the management.
  • Follow company policies and procedures at all times and maintain proper grooming and personal appearance.
