Swimming lifeguard

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons at an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Responsible for maintaining the venue's cleanliness and ensuring it meets hotel standards at all times.

Mandatory Qualifications

1. Certification as a lifeguard by an approved agency of the Government of Oman.
2. First aid certification.
3. Proficiency in English and Arabic.

Expected Profile

1. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
2. Skill in applying lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
3. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
4. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
5. Recognition of valid certification.
6. Dynamic and healthy physical condition.
7. Well-groomed appearance according to hotel standards.
8. Willingness to work in shifts.
9. Ability to follow rules and instructions.
10. Good verbal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities and Tasks

The lifeguard & pool attendant reports to the Security Manager / Recreation Supervisor and is responsible for:

1. Maintaining constant surveillance of patrons; acting immediately in emergencies.
2. Checking and supplying necessary medical supplies.
3. Providing emergency care until medical services arrive.
4. Maintaining a professional appearance and high customer service standards.
5. Performing maintenance duties to keep the facility clean and safe.
6. Preparing and maintaining activity reports.
7. Reporting incidents to the Security Manager.
8. Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.
9. Maintaining poolside amenities and ensuring cleanliness.
10. Ensuring adequate stock of towels and managing laundry drop-offs.
11. Cleaning and vacuuming the pool daily.
12. Maintaining lifeguard equipment and safety gear.
13. Being present at the venue, visible on the lifeguard chair, in full uniform when patrons are using the pool.
