Purchasing Manager with Drawing Experience is responsible for managing procurement activities while leveraging technical knowledge to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. This dual capability ensures accurate sourcing of materials, components, and services that meet technical and quality requirements. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and technical review to optimize supply chain efficiency. This includes developing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality procurement aligned with the company's goals.

Skills

  1. Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  2. Manage the purchasing team and provide leadership and training as required.
  3. Source, select, and negotiate with reliable suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.
  4. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  5. Oversee the preparation and processing of purchase orders, contracts, and related documents.
  6. Analyze market trends, supplier pricing, and delivery conditions to determine present and future availability of materials.
  7. Collaborate with other departments (production, finance, warehouse, etc.) to forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
  8. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
  9. Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
  10. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  12. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks is a plus).
  13. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  14. Evaluate supplier capabilities and technical competencies through drawing and specification analysis.
  15. Source suppliers for technical components, equipment, and materials based on project or production requirements.
  16. Interpret and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs to identify procurement needs.
  17. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
