About the Company

Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.

Purpose of the Job

  1. Translate the limited information from the Concept Selection Report and/or Basis for Design (Select Phase) into Basis for Design.
  2. Translate the limited information from the Concept Selection Report and/or Basis for Design (Select Phase) into Basis for Design and/or Front End Design & project specifications as well as Detailed Design.
  3. Carry out the Piping Engineering FEED and DD activities (Define and Execute stage) for a specific project in order to generate the Piping Engineering FEED and DD deliverables on time to the required quality standard according to DCAF requirements.

Education & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of experience in Piping - Static, especially in the oil & gas field.
  3. Good communicator and strong team player.
  4. Fluent in English; Written and Spoken.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Prepare Piping Engineering Cost, Time and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects.
  2. Supervise a team of piping engineers and Designers assigned to a project area (supervised by Project Piping Lead).
  3. Contribute to Basis for Design (BfD) and Project Specifications/Philosophies.
  4. Develop Equipment Layout / Plot Plan based on PFS/UFS, Technical safety requirements.
  5. Develop Piping Layout based on PEFS / UEFS in 2D / 3D environment.
  6. Identify stress critical lines and carry out stress analysis.
  7. Select / Develop Piping classes based on MSR.
  8. Develop specification for piping materials and specialty items.
  9. Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
  10. Provide input to other discipline deliverables as appropriate.
  11. Participate in Assurance reviews viz. Layout Review, Model Review, Design Review, etc.
  12. Support Procurement and Construction activities.
  13. Responsible for obtaining As-Built information and providing solutions in the absence of As-built information.
  14. Responsible for managing Technical Clarifications on scope and needs.
  15. Responsible for coordination with the asset teams for the information.
  16. Manage all technical changes internally and obtain approval from Discipline Leads (HOD).
  17. Responsible for Scope change confirmation (TIN).
  18. Accountable for the Decision Making on changes.
  19. Manage all Assurance Reviews and action closeouts.
  20. Accountable for Raising, Uploading, Liaising, and Technical Variances.
  21. Responsible for approving TPS Final reports.
