Position Summary

The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial and administrative operations of the project site. This includes managing cost reporting, resource allocation, site-related documentation, and personnel affairs to ensure operational efficiency and commercial control in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage various project and service unit activities commercially and administratively, with knowledge of infrastructure engineering and utilities works.
  • Set up project commercial and administrative teams, including interviewing, selection, team building, training, and adherence to company regulations and procedures.
  • Control commercial costs related to materials, procurement, quality management, filing and archiving, LEAN construction, insurances, claims, and variation orders.
  • Conduct monthly commercial closings, verify costs, accruals, stock, performance, receivables, and payments.
  • Handle subcontractor commercial issues, agreements, invoices, certificates, deductions, and final accounts, while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Represent the company in meetings and events, managing relationships with the employer and stakeholders.
  • Manage the project's auditing processes with internal and external auditors, providing necessary data.
  • Forecast and monitor commercial performance to meet targets.
  • Coordinate with finance controllers for queries, data, and procedure customization based on project specifics.
  • Ensure contractual terms are adhered to without violations.
  • Monitor business complaints, control personnel and admin tasks, including working hours and overtime, and improve digitization efforts.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 15+ years in road construction or infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in project management.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, budgets, resources, and stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Expertise in Standard Forms of Contract and Measurement.
  • Knowledge of programming techniques and project controls.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Extensive civil engineering sector experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational, reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
