NES Fircroft is seeking a Cost Control Lead to join a major operator in Oman, supporting a significant LNG project. The role involves working within the Project Control team to oversee cost management during the execution phase.

The service holder ensures the efficient handling of all project cost documentation and supports the Project Control and Project Team in all cost-related matters. They will contribute to delivering the project on time and within budget, maintaining strict confidentiality throughout.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Budget

  • Participate in the preparation of the Project Budget
  • Coordinate detailed budget preparation and issuance with input from the project team
  • Provide ad-hoc support as required

Cost Reporting

  • Prepare Cost Control reports
  • Assist in analyzing cost trends
  • Monitor and assess commitments, variations, and work value

Cost Control

  • Monitor and control project expenditures
  • Manage commitments data and allocate to budgets
  • Verify invoices and cash calls from contractors and vendors
  • Prepare cash flow estimates and final cost forecasts
  • File cost control documents per the filing system
  • Ensure full RFS process administration
  • Prepare and monitor AFE's
  • Estimate changes and develop Work Breakdown and Cost Breakdown Structures
  • Establish comprehensive cost control procedures
  • Monitor contingency usage
  • Provide cost support and guidance to the project team
  • Maintain costing philosophy and methodology for the project

Invoicing

  • Implement efficient invoicing processes across project locations
  • Monitor invoices in liaison with the accounting department for timely payments
ACTIVITIES
  1. Demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding HSE and enforce HSSE rules
  2. Organize and coordinate cost control activities, supporting personnel
  3. Advise on cost coding structure improvements
  4. Participate in project budget preparation, consolidation, and review
  5. Approve invoices in accordance with procedures and requirements
  6. Input into UNISUP system regarding payments and cost control
  7. Prepare project and stakeholder cost reports and data
  8. Liaise with Oman Finance Department on cost matters
  9. Ensure confidentiality of all cost documentation
  10. Prepare and present internal and external reports
  11. Create and update cost control methods and procedures
  12. Report progress and issues to the Lead Engineer
  13. Analyze deviations, identify options, and recommend solutions
  14. Gather lessons learned and contribute to cost control expertise development
REQUIREMENTS
  • 15+ years of professional experience, with over 10 years in similar roles
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry, particularly in fabrication/construction yards
  • Degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related field
  • High proficiency in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF systems
  • Fluent in English and French
