Wood is currently recruiting for Technical Safety Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

The Technical Safety Engineer will perform TSE and specific HSE deliverables for assigned projects and adhere to approved time frame with required quality standards. Specialized and general technical HSE and process safety input in the design development.

Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and green field opportunities, multi-skilled personnel are sought, for those with experience in Onshore Oil and Gas.

Responsibility
  • Execute technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs (designs, specifications, drawings, etc.) within designated CTR scopes
  • Implement, practice and Monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in FEED office projects in line with ISO API Q2 2nd edition requirements
  • Carry out appropriate discipline and inter discipline checks and reviews of engineering and design work
  • Remain engaged in design issues throughout the design development of the project
  • Create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors
  • Capture/apply internal and external learning's and incorporate improvements
  • Deliver continuously improving performance, benchmarked as top tier in the industry
  • Time write correctly each week based on project involvement
  • Ensure own discipline engineering and design work are successfully delivered and appropriate reviews conducted
  • Ensure quality of technical work and the technical integrity, functionality, constructability, safe operation and reliability of designs
  • Contribute to excellent HSE/AIPSM performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle
  • Maintain effective interfaces and relationships within/between disciplines, and peers in other EP Projects teams and Assets

Experience
  • Minimum 3 years in FEED/ENGINEERING Experience and HSE (TSE) role
  • Engineering degree or technical equivalent
  • Be a team player where recognition of team performance as a whole is a greater priority than projecting individual contribution
  • Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities
  • Assuring that work and project promises are successfully delivered and appropriate reviews have been conducted
  • Establishing and maintaining engineering processes, systems and tools (software)
  • Able to prepare HSE (TSE) study reports and engineering drawings
