WSP Oman is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our project team for the Sohar Port Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying and contract administration, ensuring accurate cost control, payment certifications, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Your new role, what's involved?
- Prepare, review, and monitor project budgets, bills of quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates.
- Evaluate and certify contractor interim payment applications and final accounts.
- Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contract variations, claims, and change orders.
- Conduct regular cost and commercial reporting, including cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete analyses.
- Support the procurement process, including tender evaluations, bid comparisons, and contract awards.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
- Coordinate with the engineering, planning, and construction teams to ensure alignment on budget and contract matters.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions and project-related documentation.
- Liaise with the client, contractors, and stakeholders on commercial and contractual matters.
- Support the Resident Engineer and Project Manager with financial updates and strategic advice.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably on large infrastructure or port/marine projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
- Proficient in cost control, budgeting, and commercial management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, cost management software (e.g., Candy, CCS, or similar), and MS Project.
- Previous experience working in Oman or the GCC region is preferred.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
