Job Description- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential financial pitfalls and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Manage and analyze project cash flow, tracking costs against budgets to maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that all financial aspects align with construction timelines and project goals.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and securing the best possible terms.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure that work is being carried out to the agreed specifications and standards.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to stakeholders, detailing financial status, project progress, and any issues that may arise.
- Utilize advanced software tools for cost estimation, project management, and billing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, helping to streamline purchasing processes and reduce overall project costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and implement best practices in quantity surveying.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.
- Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is preferred, demonstrating commitment and expertise in the field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in civil quantity surveying, showcasing a solid understanding of industry practices.
- Experience in large-scale civil infrastructure projects is highly desirable, highlighting capability in complex project environments.
- Proficiency in project management software and cost estimation tools is crucial for effective project execution and analysis.
- Strong analytical skills are required to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions on financial matters.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure clarity and collaboration.
- A detail-oriented mindset is necessary to ensure accuracy in cost assessments and project documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output is vital in this role.
- Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages is an advantage for international projects.
