Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensuring compliance with UAE and Oman regulations. This role includes managing payroll data, processing salary payments, handling deductions, and maintaining records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations, address employee queries, and contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and local labour laws.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Manage the accurate and timely disbursement of salaries, ensuring compliance with UAE and Oman pension regulations.
- Execute monthly payroll processes, handling all variables such as advances, deductions, bonuses, overtime, and bank detail updates.
- Verify and reflect salary changes, promotions, and other updates in the SAP/Oracle systems promptly and accurately.
- Reconcile payroll reports monthly, resolving discrepancies and providing summaries for management.
- Prepare and submit government-mandated reports and filings, including pension contributions and labor law compliance documents.
- Conduct regular audits of SAP/Oracle and other HR systems to ensure accurate reporting of gross payroll, time and attendance, vacation accruals, and statutory deductions.
- Provide employees with payroll-related documentation, such as salary certificates, pay slips, and employment verification letters, within specified timelines.
- Calculate End of Service (EOS) benefits for exiting employees and ensure final settlements comply with labor regulations.
- Manage leave administration, tracking employee leave balances and ensuring accurate system updates.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including educational assistance, housing loans, relocation allowances, and insurance policies.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to ensure timely policy renewals, updates, and claims processing.
- Maintain effective relationships with external organizations, including auditors, banks, and government authorities, to address payroll-related concerns.
- Partner with the HR team to ensure employee records in HR systems are accurate and up to date, reflecting wages, benefits, and other employment terms.
- Coordinate with finance teams to manage payroll funding, bank transfers, and financial reconciliations.
- Develop and update payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory changes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate with IT to enhance payroll system functionalities.
- Support the Payroll Officer in executing monthly payrolls and provide backup support during high-demand periods or team absences.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or related area.
Professional Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of Oman Labour Law.
- High level of affinity to and experience with Business computing solutions, ideally also with SAP/Oracle.
Experience:
- No less than 4 years' proven experience in a payroll role
- Understanding of payroll deductions, salary expenses, electronic transfer, wages and hour laws as they relate to payroll, bank accounts, time and attendance, and other associated systems

- Excellent MS Office skills in particular Excel (advanced).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak and write in English is required.
- Ability to speak and write in Arabic is preferred.
