We are seeking an energetic and creative social media content creator to join our communications team. The ideal candidate writes outstanding copy, has experience marketing B2B technology products, and can develop campaign concepts that make products and brands stand out. They value planning accuracy, cross-team collaboration, and creating audience-focused content, ideally with an understanding of technology concepts. Our communication strategy bridges the gap between product creators and users. With audiences in the millions, our online communities engage with us through feedback, conversations, and involvement in topics from #opensource to Kubernetes, product launches, and industry news.
The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and marketing, eager to own campaigns, collaborate, learn, and improve. They are problem solvers, hands-on, experimental, analytical, and adept at automation. Success in this role requires being driven, organized, and detail-oriented.
This role reports to the Director of Communications and is based remotely in the EMEA region.
What Your Day Will Look Like- Develop a multi-channel communications strategy with a focus on planning and timely execution.
- Analyze and report on content performance and campaign results.
- Support growth and engagement of Canonical's digital audiences.
- Create compelling messaging and assets aligned with the brand.
- Execute A/B and multivariate growth tests.
- Engage with audiences, moderate communities, and foster platform engagement.
- Coordinate awareness campaigns, product launches, webinars, and industry announcements.
- Package Canonical's offerings and educational content creatively across various topics.
- Understanding of best practices in tech communications.
- Hands-on experience with social media management tools like Sprout Social; familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics is a plus.
- Proficiency in at least four social platforms, including LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Meta, Instagram, and Reddit.
- Strong content sense, platform-specific content strategy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across teams.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain quality.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira is advantageous.
- Interest in video production and social media video strategies.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for events.
