SOHAR Port and Freezone is a deep-sea Port and Freezone in the Sultanate of Oman, managed by SOHAR Industrial Port Company (SIPC), a 50:50 joint venture between the Port of Rotterdam and the Sultanate of Oman.

Budgets and Plans

• Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to management.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

• Provide inputs and implement policies, systems, and procedures for the assigned section to ensure all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Day to Day Operations

• Carry out survey development plans, maintain, review, and check the accuracy of land information and coordinates.
• Plan and study methods and procedures to conduct legal survey activities, establish, and mark the legal boundaries of lands and utilities in the SIP Group.
• Prepare and develop standards and specifications for survey activities.
• Conduct research in lands and topographic survey and mapping methods using relevant techniques and data processing.
• Register plots and properties within Sohar Port and Freezone using legal survey methods; record all measurements and information during surveys to validate data.
• Prepare, manage, and document data, plans, maps, records, and documents related to survey activities.
• Conduct field survey works and data collection for planning Sohar Port and Freezone area.
• Develop guidelines, standards, and procedures for the use of Benchmarks and GPS reference stations.
• Provide surveying services to Sohar Port and Freezone clients, including performing surveys, preparing reports, and delivering results within agreed timelines and standards.
• Ensure accurate invoicing for surveying services, collaborating with the finance team for timely and correct billing.
• Manage client expectations, address issues related to survey data, service delivery, or timelines, and ensure high client satisfaction.
• Provide solutions for on-site land surveying issues.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment and instruments.
• Participate in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, systems, processes, and practices, considering global best standards, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Recommend and implement advanced surveying technologies or methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Stay updated with developments in land surveying and suggest relevant innovations.
• Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment
• Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures to guarantee safety, compliance, high-quality delivery, and environmental responsibility.
• Statements and Reports
• Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet department requirements, policies, and standards.

• Diploma in Land Surveying.

Minimum Experience and Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient in using modern land surveying tools.
• Familiar with various coordinate systems.
• Computer literate, with experience in CAD, GPS systems, and related software.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with high accuracy.
• Capable of identifying and managing potential risks during site marking.
• Proficient in both Arabic and English (written and verbal).
