We are hiring a Solutions Architect for Automotive to help our partners and prospects understand and adopt our open source platform.

Our worldwide field engineering team applies expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and related technologies. We are experts across the open source stack and are expanding our offerings to smaller Linux environments and devices. Our team is also interested in business problems—building reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions—and we learn to speak the language of our customers and their industries.

This role requires automotive expertise, Linux proficiency, coding and scripting skills, and experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development. Candidates should enjoy diverse client engagements and be driven, ambitious, and team-oriented. Our field engineers are trusted to provide thoughtful, well-informed answers to customer inquiries, always prioritizing the best interests of our partners and customers.

Location: This is a home-based role, open worldwide.

What your day will look like
  1. Engaging customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology
  2. Liaising with other Canonical experts to develop comprehensive solutions
  3. Participating in the delivery of projects related to Embedded Linux, including demos and PoCs
  4. Conveying market requirements to stakeholders and participating in solution development
  5. Acting as a customer advocate and trusted advisor

What we are looking for in you
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive Linux experience (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Embedded Linux experience (Yocto or RTOS)
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
  • Professional English communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Customer engagement interest
  • Result-oriented with multitasking ability
  • Reliable and quick learner
  • Relevant Automotive industry experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
