Urgent requirement Backup Administrator

We have an urgent requirement for a Backup Administrator for our client based in Sur, Oman.

1. Backup Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement backup strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the regular and secure backup of critical data.
2. Backup System Configuration: Configure and maintain backup systems, including backup servers, storage devices, and backup software.
3. Backup Schedule Management: Create and manage backup schedules to ensure timely and consistent backups of critical data.
4. Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor backup systems and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
5. Data Restoration: Test and implement procedures for data restoration in case of data loss or system failures.
6. Backup Testing: Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to verify their effectiveness.
7. Capacity Planning: Monitor storage capacity and plan for additional storage requirements as data grows.
8. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect backup data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
9. Incident Response: Respond to and resolve backup-related incidents, troubleshoot failures, and address data restoration requests.
10. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of backup procedures, configurations, and system changes.
11. Disaster Recovery Planning: Collaborate with disaster recovery teams to integrate backup and recovery processes into the organization's overall disaster recovery plan.

• User administration, including setup and maintenance of user accounts.
• Verify peripherals and hardware functionality, arrange repairs as needed.
• Monitor system performance and update systems and patches.
• Install and configure RedHat Linux servers for Oracle implementation.
• Configure backup solutions like Protect Backup for servers.
• Implement policies for computer and network use.
• Prepare documentation for the knowledge base.
• Troubleshoot reported problems via IT Helpdesk.

• Monitor daily backup status and perform manual backups when scheduled backups fail.
• Configure backup policies, retention, and schedules.
• Restore files from backups as requested by departments.
• Maintain tape libraries and offsite backup tapes.
• Replicate production servers to DR site hardware.

• Create and configure virtual servers, monitor VMWare hosts, and maintain datastores.
• Configure datastores with assigned volumes, install VMWare for DR site, and manage storage and LUN mapping.
• Convert physical servers to virtual servers.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.
• Good communication skills.
