Job description:

ROLE PURPOSE

The Lead Specialist - Telecom Procurement is responsible for leading procurement activities related to telecom infrastructure, network equipment, and telecom services. This role supports strategic sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier management to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of telecom-related goods and services while maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing & Procurement

* Lead the procurement process for telecom equipment and services (e.g., BTS, fiber optics, core network, OSS/BSS, transmission).
* Collaborate with technical teams to understand project requirements and translate them into sourcing strategies.
* Develop RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and drive negotiations for best value and total cost of ownership.
* Execute purchase orders and manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.

Supplier & Contract Management

* Identify, assess, and onboard telecom vendors and service providers.
* Manage vendor performance through KPIs, SLAs, and regular reviews.
* Lead contract negotiations, support contract drafting, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks in high-value agreement

Cosy Optimization % market Intelligence

* Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and benchmarks to support budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
* Identify opportunities for bundling, volume leverage, or strategic partnerships to drive savings.
* Maintain a database of telecom suppliers and category intelligence.

Cross-function Collaboration

* Work closely with engineering, project, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
* Provide subject matter expertise in telecom procurement to internal stakeholders.
* Support strategic sourcing initiatives and category management planning

Compliance & Governance

* Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
* Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit trails.
* Support internal and external audits as needed.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
* Knowledge of telecom technologies, standards, and vendor landscape (e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, etc.).
* Experience with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Oracle) and contract management tools.
* Familiarity with telecom-specific regulatory and technical procurement requirements.

Professional Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in telecom-related sourcing

Sector of Previous Experience

* Any industry but Telecommunications is a preference.

Language Requirements for Role

* English and Arabic
