When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it's critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of 'ohana, or 'family.' When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what 'ohana truly means.

You will be responsible for providing an excellent and consistent level of service to your customers. The Laundry and Kitchen Technician is responsible for assisting in the smooth and efficient running of the Engineering Department in support of all other operating departments. You will also be required to:

  1. Knowledge of Kitchen Gas/Electrical equipment maintenance.
  2. Knowledge of Dishwashers/Glasswashers.
  3. Understanding of each equipment PPM procedure.
  4. Knowledge of Gas valve and equipment safety maintenance.
  5. Knowledge of Drycleaning machine repair & maintenance.
  6. Very good knowledge of Electrical and motor connections.
  7. Mechanical and pneumatic valve control maintenance.
  8. Brazing and welding knowledge.
  9. Technical college certification is mandatory.
Qualifications

Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Management is desirable.

Minimum 2 years work experience as Technician/Tradesman in a hotel or 4 years in a similar large building/complex with central plant.
