Head Baker

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Baker to lead our bakery team and oversee all aspects of baking operations at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa in Muscat, Oman.

6. Communicates effectively across all levels of staff.
7. Monitors staff uniforms, grooming, and conducts daily briefings.
8. Approves staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
9. Supports recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training in coordination with HR.
10. Oversees third-party services such as cleaning and waste management.
11. Conducts regular stock checks and ensures safe use of equipment.
12. Provides performance appraisals and fosters inter-departmental cooperation.
13. Adheres to hygiene and sanitation procedures as directed by the Hygiene Manager.
14. Ensures compliance with food safety standards.
15. Promotes waste reduction, recycling, and reuse in line with hotel and ISO standards.
16. Practices environmentally responsible procedures following hotel guidelines.
17. Monitors food costs against budget and maintains cost-conscious operations.
18. Trains staff on waste minimization and requisition control based on business forecasts.
19. Oversees EMS procedures in kitchen operations to meet performance targets.

This role is hands-on, requiring creativity, efficiency, and attention to detail to deliver exceptional bakery products and guest experiences.
